Junior Eden Garner scored two goals in a span of five minutes at the end of the first half of the game last week which was enough to push Estero past Ida Baker 2-0 to advance the team to the District 4A-12 championship game. In the 37th minute, Garner’s left-footed shot rocketed past the Bulldog goalkeeper and, just before the halftime whistle, the junior forward again struck a sweet shot after fellow junior Maggie Struble laid off a pass that Garner hit in stride to put Estero in the driver’s seat. The Wildcats (20-2-1) would see the match out and will host the championship match Friday against third-seeded Gulf Coast. The game will be held at Estero High School’s Jeff Sommer Stadium on Williams Road. Come out and support your team!
