A Perfect Day Out At The Ballgame With The Mighty Mussels

This is an excellent time of year to take someone out to the ballgame! For one, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11, and many moms might love to spend Mother’s Day watching the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels play Dunedin at 12:05 pm and see Kid’s Catch on the Field. Plus, there’s plenty of ballgame food like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, peanuts, Cracker Jacks, and soft serve ice cream, Dippin’ Dots, slushies, and other sweet treats. If you’ve got other plans for Mother’s Day, don’t worry; there are plenty of other great games and promotions throughout May and through the end of baseball season, Sunday, September 7.
This year alone, the team will play a 132-game schedule, including 66 home games at Hammond Stadium at the Lee Health Sports Complex in Fort Myers.
And there are ways to save. Children who join the Mussel Sprouts Kids Club receive free tickets to Friday home games. All children receive free tickets to Sunday games and can play catch on the field before the game and run the bases after the game.
“A family of four should be able to purchase game tickets, pay for parking and enjoy dinner at the ballpark for under $100. I often joke that fans should not have to take out a second mortgage to attend a game, and that’s why we kept ticket prices the same for the 2025 season,” says John Martin, managing partner of the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.
Other promotions include fireworks after every Friday home game, giving fans extra incentive to stick around after the ninth inning. Family fun, where skills challenges entertain the audience between innings, certain Grand Slam Saturdays include free postgame concerts, and many Fido Friendly Saturdays, are Bark in the Park night, when all leashed dogs are welcome.
The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are the Single-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins and have played home games at Hammond Stadium since 1992. The franchise plays in the Florida State League’s highly competitive West Division. The Mighty Mussels are led off the field by Majority Partner John Martin, General Manager Judd Loveland and Vice President of Sales & Marketing Dan Lauer, and on the field by Seth Feldman. Notable alumni include MLB All-Stars Joe Mauer, David Ortiz, Jose Berrios, Byron Buxton, Miguel Sano, and Torii Hunter.
