Interview with Brett Marston, Executive Director of Inspired Living

Since 2016, Inspired Living on Bay Landing Drive in Bonita Springs, has been providing quality care for individuals with some kind of memory deficit. It’s a full memory care facility that focuses on the holistic care of residents so that they can experience their best life. The Inspired Promise explains, “We are driven by a higher purpose, moved to serve moms and dads as if they are our own.”

Nestled on a beautiful lake, the building is specifically designed for memory care residents. With memory care, one of the symptoms is a lot of wandering and walking. The outdoor space is specifically designed to accommodate this. The courtyard is laced with beautiful paths and a gazebo, and it faces the lake to capture a stunning natural scene. Residents feel like they have the autonomy to wander freely and safely and can do so in lush beauty.

Executive Director Brett Marston shares how he loves to work with memory care residents but also their families. They have to make some really tough decisions, and he enjoys walking along this journey with them.

He also explains how the compassion and care of the staff at Inspired Living is top-notch. Just this past Easter Sunday, Brett recalls a family coming up and asking how they could serve him and the staff that day because the team at Inspired Living had done so much for their loved one. The gratitude the families feel knowing there’s a leadership team invested in their loved ones is one thing he is most proud of.

One special program at Inspired Living is called Inspiration Destination. Over the last six months, the staff has taken different parts of the country like Nevada, Louisiana, Texas, etc and created programming to enhance the experience for residents as they “visit” these states. All aspects of community life tie into the theme of the month from specialized meals to life enrichment programming with documentaries to fun activities and games. It has been a hit with the residents and families as they explore different parts of the United States.

Brett proudly shares how Inspired Living is a “heart-driven organization from the leadership down. Everybody is here because it’s a passion in their heart. Families feel that when they walk in.” And that’s vitally important to him.

If you’re interested in supporting the mission at Inspired Living, they’re always in need of volunteers. Individuals from the Bonita Springs community can serve in the life enrichment programming or with the dining services. Contact Brett Marston for more information.
