Beautiful Places for the Big Day: Wedding Venues in Bonita & Estero That Wow!

Sep 07, 2021 05:00PM ● By ANN MARIE O’PHELAN

Whether your wedding plans are formal and call for a big ballroom or you are leaning toward a small, casual wedding on the beach, Southwest Florida offers many great places where your wedding bells will ring joyously. Here are a few nearby favorites.

Right on the white, sandy beaches of Fort Myers Beach, surrounded by Matanzas Pass on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other, sits the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina. This 12-acre property has long been the site of many memorable weddings. “The Pink Shell is a great place for a wedding because it’s paradise,” says wedding coordinator Dony Rivera. “We offer multiple options for ceremony locations, as well as reception areas. Our staff creates a stress-free atmosphere where you won’t have to lift a finger.” Overnight guests can also enjoy everything from dolphin tours to kayak rentals to fishing excursions—right on Fort Myers Beach. The resort can host weddings of up to 150 guests. Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina, 275 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach. 888-222-7465; pinkshell.com. Contact Dony Rivera, [email protected].

Call out: Pink Shell offers a variety of wedding locations, all set on the white sands of Fort Myers Beach.

This award-winning tropical resort offers many beautiful settings for weddings of nearly any size. Royal Palm Courtyard is perfect for a secluded garden experience; Cypress Courtyard offers greenery and a lakeside setting; North Point is a private beach on its very own island—located between Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico—and offers a chance for the wedding couple and their guests to enjoy a boat ride over before the ceremony. The resort’s restaurants and bars offer entertainment possibilities: The Cove at Tarpon Bay accommodates up to 40 dining guests—all in a tropical, Key West setting; Belvedere Terrace and Banyan Courtyard with beautiful water features are ideal for cocktail hour. If you’re thinking of a larger event, Hyatt Coconut Point can handle it. The Estero Ballroom with adjoining terrace can take up to 300 guests, and the Calusa Ballroom for up to 900 guests can be divided to suit needs and styles, according to Kevin Hodder, director of events. Stylish get-ready rooms are available. Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, 5001 Coconut Road, Bonita Springs. 239-444-1234; hyatt.com. Contact Event Wedding Specialists, 239-390-4240

Call out: From small, intimate weddings in a courtyard to those that can fit in a ballroom, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa offers it all.
