Casey Bishop, the 16-year-old teen singer who has taken the world by storm with her dramatic performances on the 19th season of American Idol, has officially made it to the top 10 after an early announcement by host Ryan Seacrest on the episode airing Monday night, April 12, 2021.

In celebration, for the second time on the show, Bishop performed the American folk song "House of the Rising Sun." This time, she did it to the powerful background of a full band. Monday night's episode marked the first live episode of the season, but Bishop did not have to feel the pressure after America resoundingly voted "Yes" to Bishop after her Sunday night performance of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun."

"Wow, you can sing anything you want to," Luke Bryan said on Sunday." I mean, there's so many amazing notes in what you just did. And it was Soundgarden and it was crazy! Really impressive."

Bryan was one of Bishop's early supporters, proclaiming Bishop could win it all after her February audition for the show. Katie Perry also enjoyed Sunday night's performance, claiming it was Bishop's best yet.

Bishop is a sophomore at Fort Myers' Center for the Arts at Cypress Lake High School.

After Monday's showdown, 12 contestants remain and the competition continues on Sunday, April 18, where they will compete to move on to the Top 9. Viewers will vote in real-time on Sunday night.

American Idol airs at 8 p.m. on Sunday and Mondays on ABC. To vote, use the American Idol app or visit AmericanIdol.com/vote.
