Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. (Examples can be seen in the "Discussion" Section of this event.) Steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has maintained mainstream usage, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. This expo will include vendors, crafts, workshops and lectures from authors.
The author, craftmakers hall and vendors will be open fom 9am-6pm and there with be live music from 6pm-8pm.
Features at the expo will be:
-Retropunk fiction writing workshop/lecture Charles A. Cornell presents a workshop on writing retropunk fiction (dieselpunk and steampunk)
-Storytelling: Author M.B. Weston presents an incredible steampunk storytelling.
-"Prop & Armor Creation" An informative talk about creating props & armor!
-"The Birth of science fiction in Pulp Fiction magazines: The real Star Wars." - presented by Rich Harvey
-"Getting published and Improving your writing" Presented by Audrey Parente, Editor of Bold Venture Press.
-Tiny Hats: Tiny hats crafting table. Make your own tiny hats 9am until supplies last.
