As the oldest homemade ice cream & yogurt store in Bonita Springs, Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream opened in 1979 on Bonita Beach Road, moving to the south side of 8th Street two years later. In 1990, the company moved to its current location on the north side of 8th Street in Bonita Shores.

On July 1, 1994, the Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream was purchased by David and Sarah Zimmermann, who pride themselves on carrying on the tradition of making and serving the finest homemade ice cream, low-fat yogurt, sugar-free treats, sorbets and deli sandwiches. Over the years, Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream has become a Bonita Tradition! We like to say, we have been “time tested and taste bud approved”! We give back to our Loyal Royal Scoopers each day by making the richest, most flavorful products and providing unmatched customer service. This philosophy has struck a cord with the people of Southwest Florida, as we have been named the area’s Best Ice Cream year after year by the News Press & The Bonita Banner, also several local magazines have awarded us honors for the quality of our ice cream. In addition, in 2001 Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream was named Small Business of the Year by the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Since the Zimmermann’s took over the Royal Scoop in 1994, sales have continued to increase. We now serve the growing community through our retail outlets and our always-expanding wholesale business. Our homemade ice cream is served in dipping stores, restaurants, country clubs and assisted living facilities throughout the area. In addition, we also have a growing catering line. If you are ever in need of a traveling sundae bar, ice cream social or specially prepared lunch we hope you will consider us.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing staff and the support of our community! We are very grateful that the community support has lifted us to this level. We will continue to honor your faith in us by giving back to the community every chance we get. We are proud of the Love of Bonita award we received from the Community Foundation in 2008 and are committed to continually supporting our area, churches, schools, charities and civic groups.
