50th anniversary of the first landing on the moon

Celebrate this historic event while helping preserve Estero’s history

A special celebration of man’s first steps on the moon will be held at the Club at Grandezza starting at 5 p.m., Saturday, July 20, which is the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing.

Joel Banow, television director of the Apollo broadcasts for CBS News, will talk about how he created the coverage of Apollo 11, “Landing on the Moon with Walter Cronkite.”

This special evening will begin with a cash bar cocktail hour at 5 p.m. when you may also want to have your picture taken in “outer space”. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., followed by the presentation by Mr. Banow.

Tickets are $100 per guest and dinner choices are a 6 oz. filet mignon or hogfish snapper. Dinner reservations and tickets may be purchased online at http://esterohistoricalsociety.com/.

This evening is especially important to the Estero Historical Society for building an Endowment Fund. The Society continues to preserve historical buildings in Estero as well as conduct tours of the buildings to help the public learn more about Estero’s rich history.

Sponsorship opportunities for this event are also available at three levels: Saturn Rocket at $1,000, Gemini at $2,500 and Apollo at $5,000. For further details, contact Pamela at [email protected].

This special event is sponsored by the Estero Historical Society, the Estero Council of Community Leaders and the Village of Estero.

The Club at Grandezza is located at 11481 Grande Oaks Blvd.
