Special Events Designed with a Strategic Purpose

Special events must be designed with a strategic purpose in order to effectively meet donor engagement and revenue goals. This session will give the participant effective strategies, best practices and trends in event planning and production designed specifically for fundraising. Participants will also learn how to appropriately engage board, staff and volunteers in their events to successfully achieve goals while effectively branding your organization. Participants will learn about: •Best practices through success stories. •Simple and effective data-driven strategies for event planning and production specific to fundraising, which include technology and social media. •Trends in fundraising events from other markets and how to personalize to your organization and fundraising cause. Certification: 1.5 CFRE points are approved for this session. Presenter: Katherine Caskey’s experience spans 15 years in nonprofit and educational leadership, fundraising and event management. As the chief development officer for the Greater Marco Family YMCA, she leads the Y’s comprehensive development program. In addition to her work with the Marco Y, she is a consultant with Riley Philanthropy, and co-founder of DAB Ventures, a hospitality and event solutions firm.
